Your Career
Why JLP?

What to expect

John Lewis Partnership offers six different schemes and these cover almost all elements of the business allowing you to learn specialist skills alongside experiencing how a successful business operates.

If you're excited by a graduate career at the largest department store group in the UK, with a network of shops stretching from Aberdeen to Exeter, the John Lewis Retail Management Graduate scheme is for you.

If you'd like a thorough grounding within a pioneering fresh food retailer - which will prepare you for life as a senior leader at Waitrose Head Office - find out more about the Waitrose Graduate Leadership scheme.

Or if you'd like to launch your career in an office environment that supports, co-ordinates and develops its extensive retail operation, discover what the Head Office graduate schemes in John Lewis Buying, John Lewis Merchandising, John Lewis Partnership Technology and John Lewis Partnership Finance can do for you.

JLP Finance

Finance influences nearly every area of the Partnership, from managing the performance of the business, to safeguarding the company's assets, to paying suppliers and Partners.

JLP Technology

Technology is the central nervous system of John Lewis's £9.5 billion gross sales business. It underpins every aspect of the retail life cycle and is an equal partner in the business, offering proactive solutions that give us an edge in a highly competitive environment. Innovation is key - but only if it brings genuine commercial benefits. State-of-the-art gadgets are always of interest, but they must add value to the business.

Waitrose Graduate Leadership

As the supermarket division of the John Lewis Partnership, Waitrose has come a long way - with more than 300 branches across the country. However it's not stopping there. When it comes to growth Waitrose really means business and if you join the Waitrose Graduate Leadership scheme you'll be someone who helps fulfil these ambitions.

John Lewis Retail

How do you like the sound of managing your very own John Lewis shop? This should be your ultimate ambition if you want to join the branch-based Retail Management Scheme. There are plenty of steps in between here and there that will each test, challenge and reward you. But the progression opportunities are yours for the taking. All you have to do is prove yourself.

John Lewis Buying

Being a Buyer at John Lewis is all about inspiring customers with an incredible breadth of stylish products - from sofas to make-up and tablet computers to handbags.

John Lewis Merchandising

The huge range of JLP products doesn't just need to excite and inspire customers, it must also add to the bottom line. That's where John Lewis's commercially-focused Merchandisers come in. In a nutshell, it's their challenge to manage stock in order to hit financial targets such as sales, profit and stock in turn.
