The traineeship programme is designed for school leavers and offers a variety of paid year-long placements in all sorts of roles across the business, from IT to Marketing, Operations to Compliance, and many more. Although you may have never heard of Schroders before today, this traineeship could be for you because Schroders provides training that will introduce you to the financial services industry and in particular, investment management, whatever part of the business you join, and wherever your future career takes you. The Programme is a great opportunity to gain hands on experience in the industry while developing key skills and building strong relationships within the organisation. It is designed to provide you with the necessary skills to secure permanent work either at Schroders or elsewhere in the industry. It is a great way to gain paid work experience either as a gap year or as a stepping stone into the industry if university is not for you. Schroders also accepts applications from graduates.
With in-house resources and external training experts, the traineeship programme is designed to make sure you develop the skills and understanding you need to succeed in investment management. The training programme is designed to help you develop a wide range of skills and competencies as well as supporting you to achieve a professional qualification as part of the 12 month programme.
They offer traineeships in many different areas of the business, and while all of the roles require you to demonstrate alignment with Schroders' values, which include excellence, innovation, teamwork, passion and integrity, you should also indicate in your application which skillset, from the below list, best meets your strengths so that you can join the business area that suits your skills. All trainees are expected to be proficient in all of the below areas but it is recognised that you will have certain talents and things you enjoy doing more than others.
Schroders are looking for trainees who enjoy working with computers and systems; who enjoy problem solving and providing solutions to support the business in its technology needs
Planning and process management skills
Schroders are looking for trainees who are able to work to deadlines in a time critical environment and who demonstrate a good degree of accuracy and attention to detail in their work, and who also have the ability to multitask and communicate effectively to people within the business as well as externally is key
Written and verbal skills
Schroders are looking for trainees who can communicate effectively and with integrity to both internal and external clients. The ability to understand complex issues, find solutions, and then communicate these effectively to facilitate and help support decision making and relationship management
Numerical and analytical skills
Schroders are looking for trainees who are comfortable working with data and figures, whether that's the control and monitoring of data integrity, or managing and analysing data in a timely and accurate way to inform business performance decisions
Schroders have roles available in many teams within their business including areas such as Risk, Operations, Data Services, Tax, Human Resources, IT, Cyber Security, Legal, Compliance, Sales, Marketing, and Secretarial roles.

Schroders are looking for ambitious self-starters who have a genuine interest in the financial services industry. You will need to demonstrate an interest in working for Schroders as part of the traineeship scheme and be strong academically. Schroders can teach what you need to know about the job, they are looking for a is a pro-active approach and willingness to make the most of this opportunity to gain experience and to start to build your career. Schroders are looking for candidates with at least 240 UCAS points at A Level or equivalent. You will need to be 18 years old by 22 August 2016 to apply for this intake.
